27-05-2008 : CHINA SERIES Game 3. Winning the last game in China gave us a well needed boost for our confidence leading into the Olympic qualification. I would have liked to do more practice as we were travelling a lot between games. The team is looking good so lets get off to a good start with Thailand. Also we played with the Olympic Ball. This was a bit strange but it was nice also to play with the new ball. Japan here we come..

15-05-2008 : GREEK SERIES Game 3 : 3-1 and series victory. Well tonight we played the final game in Greece. The first set was a bit of a disaster as we struggled to play at a normal level. We made alot of mistakes and suffered in all areas. The 2nd was a huge turnaround. We were well behind at the start of the set and we managed to comeback with some of our best play in Greece. There was some very high level volleyball from us in this set. The momentum continued for the remainder of the game. For those interested in the things outside the game. On the way to the stadium for an early warm-up, we had to move a car blocking our path. Our bus was stuck on the street and the traffic and parking in Athens is at times challenging. A few of the guys got out with the onlookers having a good giggle and moved the car from the street. Also the lift in our hotel has a capacity of 2. I think that's a first. The team now heads to Slovakia without me. I will be heading to Australia with the family and will rejoin the team in China.

14-05-2008 : GREEK SERIES Game 2 : A much more determined Greek team winning 3-0. I am struggling a bit to find the rhythm with Matt but we have only really had game time to work on our timing together. Still we were very close throughout the game. Now we are going to fight back tonight for the series win. Thankfully no notable incidents for this game.

13-05-2008 : GREEK SERIES Game 1 : 3-0. Game 1 tonight and we had myself and Dan Howard on the court for the first time after Asian Championships. It was a difficult start as we had no practice with the team prior to the game as it took our bus driver almost 1 hour to find the gym. The first part of the match we were a little unsure how we were going to play. After the 2nd technical time-out we started to play better and grew in confidence and coming back from alot of points down to win the set. Nathan Roberts had a great match and kept us always in touch during the game. From there we started to play better and we won the 2nd and 3rd set quite well in the end. It was a special match as Zane became a 'real' volleyballer tonight splitting his chin open diving to save a ball and Brett collided with Igor before the match started and had a blood nose for about 10min. We shall see if we can improve again for the 2nd game.
